Several Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations are taking place simultaneously. A wide cross-section of Indian groups concerned about the social, economic and political implications of these agreements have come together under the banner of the Forum on FTAs. Intercultural Resources (ICR) provides a regular digest, FTA Watch – India, for actions and reflections. The digest has the following sections:

Statements (final and under construction), declarations and publications as well as official documents from India and countries with which India is negotiating FTAs.

Ongoing Negotiations
In every issue there will be a special focus on one or two ongoing Indian FTA negotiations, with a regular update on other negotiations.

Regularly and in collaboration with other groups, we will highlight on specific sector or issue. We will also provide links to these groups and their activities and resources.

Alternatives
Information relating to alternatives to the free trade model, being proposed by progressive groups and governments around the world. A synthesis of available material will be provided.

Events and Announcements
Announcement of conferences, meetings, seminars and other events related to FTA negotiations as well as relevant trade related issues, taking place primary in India.
