EVENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

» Workshop on Trade and Development
The EU-India Follow-up Committee of the European Economic and Social Committee will organise a “Trade and Development Workshop” in Delhi on Thursday 24 September 2009 at the India Habitat Centre. This event is organised with the support of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The objectives of this workshop are to inform civil society organisations on trade negotiations, raise awareness on the potential impacts of trade liberalisation between the EU and India, and debate the relations between trade and poverty alleviation. The Chief Negotiators from both sides are expected to address the morning session and interactions between trade and two specific fields, employment and environment will be covered in the afternoon sessions (Workshop Description and Draft program).
