The negotiations on a broad-based Free Trade Agreement between the four European Free Trade Association (EFTA) States and India held their third round in New Delhi from 23-26 February 2009.

NGOs call for halt to EFTA-India FTA talks

A group of Indian trade unions, peoples' movements and civil society organizations has called for a halt to ongoing negotiations on a free trade agreement between India and EFTA. The group voiced deep concerns that this free trade framework will constrain India's policy space and have adverse socio-economic and environmental impacts.
